The cattery

The cattery

Praia da Ursa — one of the most beautiful coves we have ever set eyes on. Grey cliffs rising steeply out of the water, pale sand, deep blue sea and a swell that simply leaves you in awe. You could almost believe the Sacred Birman copied her markings and her colours straight from this bay!

And yet the truly famous beach lies right next door. Just like this small, hidden cove, we are no large breeding operation: we have only our girl Yoselin, and once a year a litter of little bundles of joy sweeps through our home — like the swell through that bay in Portugal!

The mother

Yoselin

Yoselin — expressive, spirited and simply adorable.

She likes to sleep right in the middle of the bed, hides cleverly behind the pillows, and regards a freshly folded pile of laundry as her personal playground.

Honestly: before her, we never quite believed there was much difference between an ordinary house cat and a pedigree cat. But Birmans really are different — utterly devoted to their people, wonderfully talkative, and loyal companions at every step. Yoselin grumbles at us when the food is not to her liking, follows us around the flat like a little dog, and claims your lap the moment you so much as sit down. A cat with character!

A litter

Four kittens

Four little rascals have taken over our living room. They are growing up in the middle of family life, accompanied by plenty of love, security and care. Everyday noises and other animals are nothing new to them: our dog Willow is the best playmate there is, and our second cat Hailey looks after the little ones just as affectionately.

The four may move out at twelve weeks at the earliest — by then they are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, insured, and carry their Felidae e.V. pedigree with them.
